Sequoia Computer Technology from IBM, equivalent to 2 million laptop
IBM created a computer that has a super power. After make the supercomputer fastest in the world, IBM has delivered the computer that claimed has the power equivalent to two million laptop.
Computer technology called Sequoia has the performance to 20 petaflop per second. Petaflop means the process is able to perform at the level quadrillion operations per second (1 quadrillion = 1 million billion).
Sequoia system consists of 1.6 million processor with 96 shelves.
This system will be used for the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, United States Department of Energy.
Sequoia and a smaller computer called Dawn used to simulate nuclear tests. It also needs to efficiently predict the weather and oil exploration.
